Good Simple Phone

I try to buy 100$ cards every year. This phone is meant for emergencies and the like.
I have no interest in the Iphone and smartphone craze. All I need is a phone that does the simple stuff like text messages, phone calls, voice messages. It also has caller ID or something like that. I know exactly which number called when I can't answer the phone immediately. I don't pay any extra money for those features.
As far as I'm concerned this is the best option because generally I am at home or at work. So when I'm on the road, all I need is an emergency phone or casual use phone which is what I have.
I strongly recommend this phone to anyone who doesn't want to pay 70$ per month for a toy (eg Iphone).

I was determined to buy the cheapest pay as you go phone possible. I was surprised at how many features came with the phone - bluetooth, ringtones, games, etc. As a simple phone it works OK. CDMA technology is old but fairly reliable. Virgin Mobile was only $20 a month and I wasn't going to be hooked into a $100 a month data plan for an iPhone for 3 years. (People who buy those phones in contracts are fools).
A good phone for grandma if she doesn't text or need fancy web browsing. Forget the games. It runs in Java and is epic slow. I only lasted 9 months before I "upgraded" to better phone anyway (non-contract).
