Fido

Fido was formerly known as Microcell Telecommunications before being purchased by Rogers in November of 2004. Fido was the first Canadian provider to launch a GSM based network and the first in North America to offer GPRS (General Packet Radio Service).

Fido utilizes GSM and HSPA 850/1900 technology and is now testing their LTE (3.9G) network in Ottawa, which is predicted to launch sometime in the coming year.
